EXCUSE ME? HOW MANY BAGS ARE YOU CHECKING?
EXCUSE ME? HOW MANY BAGS ARE YOU CHECKING?
So what do you do when your new love has a lingering past? I mean, if you live in the world that I do, this is not uncommon at all. With such a small community, we are bound to have had relations with someone who was an ex-girlfriend, who also slept with an old roommate, who is now best friends with a girl on your softball team, who you hooked up with after a winning celebration at your local bar — or something along those lines.
Just the other night, I sat at my best friend’s new girlfriend’s house with my lovely lady beside me. With the new girlfriend fresh in the group, we started discussing people we know. In all of the talk, I discovered that my ex-girlfriend is supposedly dating someone who, ironically, showed interest in me when I first started dating said ex. It seemed everyone who was sitting there was linked some way or another. Sound familiar? Probably for most of my readers.
It’s kind of fun and exciting for a moment, but what about when the connection is too close? What about when the past of a new girl … is haunting? When exes rear their ugly heads, or when the “we are still friends” just isn’t flying anymore? When do you let the baggage go? Or when do you just kick her ass?
